Gauge chart

Gauge Chart turns KPI values into compact status indicators that are easy to scan in a dashboard. It can render one gauge per dimension member, arrange them as a grid, and support classic semi-circle gauges, full-circle gauges, a speedometer layout with a needle, and a traffic-light layout for stoplight-style status signaling.

The chart is designed for threshold and progress storytelling. It supports manual or automatic scaling, optional target comparison, three-band range coloring, member-based coloring, configurable spacing and thickness, and label and tooltip templates that can surface value, percent progress, target, variance, and status in each gauge.

• Multiple layouts: semi-circle, full-circle, speedometer, and traffic-light.
• Multiple color strategies: member color, target performance, and three configured ranges.
• Range-based coloring supports configurable begin, middle, and end bandwidth plus optional empty space at the start or end of the track.
• Target-aware coloring supports above target, on target, and below target states with configurable tolerance.
• Configurable padding, gauge spacing, track opacity, fill opacity, border width, gauge thickness, value arc width, and needle size.
• Separate text styling for gauge label and value label, with customizable label and tooltip templates.
• Optional legend support for member colors, target states, or range states.
• Click selection applies Tableau filtering, supports dashboard actions, and can use native Tableau tooltips when one gauge maps to exactly one tuple.
