[Delta Sharing](https://delta.io/sharing) is an open protocol for securing the real-time exchange of large datasets, which enables organisations to share data in real time regardless of which computing platforms they use. ### Connect to your Databricks data to enable this Accelerator

##### Databricks prerequisite

* You must have the system tables enabled to use this dashboard. ([Databricks documentation](https://docs.databricks.com/en/admin/system-tables/index.html#enable))

##### Tableau configuration

* You will need to use Tableau Desktop to replace the sample data with an extract of your own data, but you can either connect to your own data in Tableau Server/Cloud or directly in Desktop.

##### Option 1: Create a published data source in Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud

1. In the Explore tab, select the **New** drop-down and select **Data Source.**
2. Select **Databricks** as your connection
3. Enter your credentials and create a relationship between the `system.billing.usage table` and the `system.billing.list_prices` table.
4. Edit the relationship noodle to match the fields shown in the screenshot. 
    1. For the Usage Start Time equivalent in `list_prices`, click the drop-down menu and select **Create relationship calculation**. Use the syntax from the screenshot – `IFNULL([Price End Time], DATE("1/1/3000"))`.
5. Publish this data source as an extract on your site.
6. Open the accelerator workbook in Tableau Desktop.
7. Create a new data source by clicking on the top menu **Data** \> **New Data Source** and select **Tableau Server** as your data source.
8. Connect to the new extract you generated.
9. In the top menu, select **Data** \> **Replace Data Source** and replace the sample data with the new source you created.

##### Option 2: Create your Databricks connection locally in Tableau Desktop

1. Open the accelerator workbook in Tableau Desktop.
2. Create a new data source by clicking on the top menu **Data** \> **New Data Source.**
3. Select **Databricks** as the data source. [Install the driver](https://docs.databricks.com/en/partners/bi/tableau.html#requirements) if you haven't done so previously.
4. Enter your credentials and create a relationship between the `system.billing.usage table` and the `system.billing.list_prices` table.
5. Edit the relationship noodle to match the fields shown in the screenshot. For the Usage Start Time equivalent in `list_prices`, click the drop-down menu and select **Create relationship calculation**. Use the syntax from the screenshot – `IFNULL([Price End Time], DATE("1/1/3000"))`.
6. Select the **Extract** radio button on the **Data Source** page

To get set up, ask your Tableau Site Admin to connect this Accelerator to your Tableau Cloud Site today.

**Answer Key Business Questions:**

* How many data sources do you have in Tableau?
* Which data sources can be trusted to support self-service and AI-driven solutions?
* Which data sources are being shared and how often are they used?
* Which data sources should be prioritised to promote to a certified standard of truth?
* Which data sources are being duplicated?

**Required Data:**
The three required data sources are included in the Tableau Cloud *Admin Insights* Project. The data sources are: *Site Content, TS Events and TS Users.*

**Set Up the Accelerator:**

1. Download this accelerator
2. Sign in to your Tableau Cloud Site, go to *Add a Data Source*, click *Tableau Server* and add the three data sources *Site Content, TS Events and TS Users*
3. Click into the "Bar - Certified" sheet. Select the *Data* drop-down from the top menu bar and select *Replace Data Source*. You’ll do this three times, replacing "*Replace Me* *\- Site Content*" for *Site Content*, "*Replace Me - Events"* for *TS Events* and "*Replace Me - Users*" for TS Users. On the Data Tab located on the top left of your sheet, you can right-click the three "Replace Me" data sources and close them to remove them from the workbook.
4. The Replace Data Source step will reset the shapes associated with your Certification Checklist to generic circles and rectangles... not as helpful as "✓" and "X". Change the shapes with the following steps:
    1. Go to the sheet named "Bar - Certified", click into the "MAX(0) (2)" marks card, click "Shape" and change the Shapes to something more helpful. We recommend changing True = ✓ and False = X. These can be found in the "KPI" shape palette.
    2. Go to the sheet named "Certification Checklist". There will be five marks cards named "MAX(0)". Change the shapes for each one. We recommend changing the "1" = ✓ and "0" = X.
    3. Once the shapes have been changed, you can hide the sheets.
5. Sort any bar charts and publish the workbook for you and your users to start exploring!

Radial Sankey

The **Sunburst** **Diagram** is used to **visualise hierarchical data using concentric circles**. The centre-most circle represents the highest hierarchy level, drilling down as you move away from the centre. This viz extension displays 2 levels at a time, allowing users to drill down by clicking a specific category.
 
To build your own, assign 2 to 5 dimensions with categories to the **Level** mark and one or multiple measures to **Value**.

The Sunburst Diagram is used to visualise hierarchical data using concentric circles.

Used to show **comparisons among categories by using circular shapes**, the **Radial** or **Circular Bar Chart** simply refers to bar charts displayed on polar coordinate planes instead of a Cartesian system.

RFM stands for Recency, Frequency and Monetary value, each corresponding to a key customer trait. These RFM metrics are important indicators of a customer’s behaviour because frequency and monetary value affects a customer’s lifetime value, and
recency affects retention, a measure of engagement.

For each determined customer trait (Recency, Frequency and Monetary), **the method assigns a mark from 1 to 5 to each customer (1 is bad, 5 is good).**

* Recency: *When was the last sales transaction with this customer?*
 * Very recently? It’s a 5.
 * A long time ago? It’s a 1.
* Frequency: *How often do we sell to this customer?*
 * Very often? It’s a 5.
 * Rarely? It’s a 1.
* Monetary: *How much did we sell to this customer across its entire lifetime?*
 * High volume? It’s a 5.
 * Very low volume? It’s a 1.

For each customer, the method then determines an RFM Profile such “555” (obviously your best customers), “543”... “111”.
The method then regroups RFM profiles into RFM Segments. Each segment consolidates customers having the same sales characteristics, to whom the method details a recommended marketing action.
