EasyTables

EasyTables turns a Tableau worksheet into a fast, configurable table for operational dashboards and detailed analysis. Authors set it up in a rich settings panel, and viewers can adapt the table themselves within the limits the author sets. It renders inside Tableau and processes worksheet values in the viewer's browser.

What you can do

• Sort, search and filter columns, page through rows and copy cell ranges.
• Rename, hide, reorder, pin and resize columns, or show two fields in one cell.
• Build a pivot from Rows, Columns and Values, with collapsible groups, subtotals and total columns.
• Format numbers and dates, compare periods, and add data bars, conditional formatting and tooltips.
• Expand a row into a chart of its metrics.
• Choose one of five light themes and an English or Russian interface.
• Move a table configuration between workbooks as JSON.

Self-service for viewers

• Viewers adapt the table themselves, within the options the author allows: they sort, filter, resize, hide, reorder and pin columns, build their own pivot, add conditional formatting and period comparisons, open row details and copy cells.
• Each viewer can pick a personal theme and, when the author allows it, switch between Table and Pivot.
• When the author sets a Tableau string parameter for layouts, each viewer's layout is kept in their Tableau Custom View.
• Saved views and filter presets give everyone ready-made starting points.

Requirements

• Tableau Desktop 2024.2 or later, Tableau Server 2024.2 or later, or Tableau Cloud, with Viz Extensions enabled.
• EasyTables is a network-enabled extension hosted at https://easy-tables.databeyond.app/. On Tableau Server and Tableau Cloud, an administrator adds this URL to the site's allowed extensions.
• The extension requests Full Data access to calculate exact AVG and COUNTD results and advanced pivot aggregations. Published views also need the Download Summary Data permission.

Pricing

• Tableau Desktop: free. No licence is needed to build workbooks.
• Tableau Server and Tableau Cloud: published workbooks need one of these plans:
  • Evaluation: one 30-day trial without a payment card, on request.
  • Community: free for organisations with up to 10 Tableau accounts using EasyTables, on request.
  • Annual licence: from USD 175 a year for 25 accounts.

Annual licence price per account and year. Each price applies only to the accounts in its band; taxes are added at checkout.

Buying and activation:

• Annual licences are sold on the publisher's website, with Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. A full refund is available within 14 days of purchase and of each renewal.
• After purchase, you activate the licence key once for your Tableau address and site. On Tableau Server, every workbook on that site then works. On Tableau Cloud, an author adds the activation code to each workbook in one click. The manifest stays the same.

Data and privacy

• Worksheet data, field values and workbook contents are not sent to the publisher.
• On Tableau Server and Tableau Cloud, EasyTables checks access with the publisher's licensing service. The check sends the Tableau context and address, the site when it is visible, and an activation code when an author has saved one in the workbook. It sends no Tableau account identifiers.
• An older online licence check, which an author can run manually, also sends the Tableau account identifier. The service stores only a pseudonymous hash of it, until the end of the calendar month.
• If access is denied or ends, the table is blocked and the saved settings are kept.
